The Disassembled Novel

In a future world, the Second American Civil War preceded dark times. Standards of right and wrong were turned upside down. The people divided into two teams: one opposing abortion and the other supporting it. The two opinions became armies determined to destroy each other. To end the war, a dreadful solution was brought forth: “The Life Pact” was enacted. The Life Pact stipulates that it is forbidden to interfere with human life from the moment of conception until the age of thirteen. However, between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, parents are allowed to subject their children to “dismantlement,” where their organs are harvested to be transferred to various recipients. Thus, children are “aborted” retroactively, but their lives don’t end “in theory.” Connor, a boy whose parents took drastic measures to correct his troubled behavior. Risa grew up in a shelter where the caretakers deemed her failed to prove herself worthy of life. Lev, on the other hand, was pledged by his religious family to be dismantled when he turns thirteen. Their paths intersect, and together, the three teenagers strive to uphold their principles and survive in a terrifying world.
